Honda SIEL launched the V6 version of its Accord
saloon today. Powered by a 3.5 litre, 271 bhp V6 engine, the car is available in two variants. The regular 3.5 variant is available at a price of Rs 24.8 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Inspire variant is on sale for Rs 25.35 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The differences between the Inspire and the regular 3.5 are cosmetic. The Inspire sports a rear spoiler, a lower and a lip spoiler on the chin of the car. Both variants are fitted with the same engine that features Honda's Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) technology. VCM cuts out power from the engine by shutting down up to three of the six cylinders when the car is travelling at slow speeds. Honda claims the engine meets Euro-IV emission levels and is E-10 (10% ethanol and 90% unleaded petrol) compatible. The car's 5-speed automatic gearbox is fitted with Honda's Shift Holding System. Honda claims the system prevents unnecessary gear shifting on winding roads. Both cars also sport 17-inch alloy wheels, dual exhausts, indicators in the wing mirrors and an illuminated sidestrip. Both variants are also fitted with Vehicle Stability Assist that manages body roll when the car corners at high speeds.
